Twitter has reportedly nabbed a Google advertising executive to be head of retail as the company attempts generate revenue and show it still has growth potential ahead of its initial public offering. J.J. Hirschle, director of media and entertainment at Google, is joining Twitter and will “be responsible for the team selling advertising products to retail companies,” a Twitter spokesman told Bloomberg Tuesday. Hirschle starts on October 28, according to the report.
